125^th anniversary of the Patriots of 37-38

The celebrations begin tomorrow afternoon in Montreal, at Saint Denis and at Saint-Charles under the auspices of the Montreal Historical Society, jointly with the Saint John the Baptist Societies of Montreal, of Saint-Benoit, of Saint-Hyacinthe and of Saint-Jean, as well as with the historical societies of the Richelieu, of Lac-Saint-Louis, of Deux-Montagnes.  The celebrations will continue in the Metropolis at 12:30 at

Pied-du-Courant, at the corner of De Lorimier and Notre-Dame Streets.  The participants in this commemorative ceremony will then move on to Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, towards 3:00 on the very spot of the victory of the Patriots, then toward 4:00 to Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, where they were defeated and where the famous Assembly of Six Counties was held.  The monument above, erected at Saint-Charles, recalls these events.
